London Marathon Week Events

Runners taking part in a marathon

It’s London Marathon week and that means there are some amazing events celebrating all things running popping up all over the city. Whether it’s an exhibition, shake out run or simply the chance to hangout with other runners, there’ll be something for you.

Point2 - On Running

A marathon is 26.2 miles, and that point two-matters.

Point2 from On Running is all about celebrating the mindset that takes you that step further. Running moves more than our bodies, it moves our minds, sparks our imaginations, ignites the human spirt and helps up dream bigger than we could ever imagine. Point2 is a multi-sensory experience that invites you to discover your mind in motion through mind-bending installations, movement sessions, workshops, talks by world-leading experts on flow state, the latest On technology, parties and much more.

The schedule looks absolutely fantastic and I’m looking forward to dropping in to check out everything out.

Point2 runs 29 September to 2 October and you can find out more here.

THIS IS YOUR RACE - New Balance

New Balance and London Marathon are a match made in running heaven, so it is only natural they’d be celebrating all things running leading up to this amazing race. From 29 September to 1 October, THIS IS YOUR RACE is a chance to discover more about the relationship between New Balance and London Marathon, explore the innovation behind the brand’s pinnacle performance product, engage with community building and moving meditation workshops, join runs hosted by Run The Boroughs and get race-ready with Imprint by Tottenham Textiles.

You can find out more here.

RUN // CLICK - Like The Wind

Like the Wind has a special place in my heart. I’ve know the founders Simon and Julie for years and they are some of the kindest, most passionate people I know. They also put on really great events, and RUN // CLICK will be no exception.

Photography has been such an important part of Like The Wind’s storytelling and RUN//CLICK is a celebration of how photography can capture the culture and spirit of running. The RUN//CLICK competition and exhibition is a chance to acknowledge the importance of visual storytelling in running, and based on what I’ve seen there’s going to be some phenomenal talent on show.

RUN//CLICK runs 28 September to 1 October and you can find out more here.

Tracksmith London Shakeout Run

Two of my favourite ‘internet people’ Charlie Watson and Emily Abbate are teaming up with Tracksmith and Believe in the Run to host everyone’s favourite pre-race tradition. Starting at their shop on Chiltern Street this easy pre-run shake out around Regent’s Park (followed by a drink from Workshop Coffee and some Tracksmith goodies) is the perfect way to get ready for the big race!

London Shakeout with Marcus Brown - Abbott Global

Another amazing running friend hosting another amazing shakeout run! Join Marcus Brown at 9am by Wellington Arch, Hyde Park for an easy run/walk to the Tate Modern. There’s no need to sign up, but come ready to run as there won’t be a bag drop.

Shakeout Run with adidas Runners London

One of London’s hottest running crews are celebrating the end of the training season with a 5k shakeout and post-run social including talks, a photobooth (trust me, an adidas photobooth is ALWAYS a good thing!), delicious food from Acai Girls and a whole host of other activities. Whether you need a motivational boost from Amira, The Communications Expert, or to get your hair done by Braid Bar, these guys have you covered.

London Marathon Shakeout Run - Strava

If it’s not on Strava did it really happen? No need to worry if you head to this shakeout run as I can guarantee someone will have your back if you forget to press start on your watch. Led by coach Ben Parkes all paces are welcome as well as supporters who fancy loosening up their legs before a big day of cheering.

London Marathon Shakeout Run and Social - The November Project

Normally earlier risers, The November Project are making an exception for the marathon and meeting at 6pm on Friday 30 September for a shakeout run and social. All paces are welcome for an easy 5k run from the York Gate entrace to Regent’s Park to Little Creatures Brewing in Coal Drops Yard. There’ll be no bag drop so go ready to run.

GOOD LUCK to everyone taking on London Marathon 2022! I can’t wait to see you on the road!
