Mother's Day Gifts for Active Mums

AD - this post contains promotions.

I’m not going to lie, this post is a tiny bit self-serving because every single one of these items is something I’d love to receive as a Mother’s Day gift, and I will be forwarding the link to my husband Mike so that he can coordinate procurement on behalf of our daughter.

With that disclaimer out of the way, you’ve got just over a week to hook the active Mum in your life up with the perfect Mother’s Day Gift, and whatever they’re into I’ve rounded up the perfect gift that they’ll be thrilled to receive!

The Gift of Great Kit

lululemon blissfeel 2 running shoe

This is how you make your running Mum really happy. Building on Lululemon’s orignial blissfeel running shoe, the 2 has a new upper for maximum support and comfort, a 3D-moulded midfoot panel for added stability and a seamless frame that goes all the way though the heel creating a cradled sensation. DREAMY. You can read my review of the Blissfeel 2 here.

Helly Hansen Running Gear

Helly Hansen was one of the first brands I worked with as a blogger and I continue to be impressed by their gear. While the brand isn’t known for running kit, what they do produce is brilliant and would make any trail running mum happy. Kit your mum out so she’s ready for the trails with Helly Hansen’s Verglas Tights and Verglas Mid-Layer, which are perfect for the slightly colder weather we’re experiencing at the moment.

Sherpa Fleece

Sherpa is a brand my Mum and Dad rave about having discovered it while trekking in Nepal a few years ago. Not only are their products beautiful and great quality, but for every product sold they give back by funding a day at school for a Nepalese child and create employment opportunities for women in Nepal. I love the look of the Aarti Full Zip, a lightweight layer perfect for the warmer months that are hopefully just around the corner!

The Gift of Experiences

activitygift Gift card

Activitygift is an experience day gift card which gives back to the planet, and it’s the perfect gift if your Mum loves nothing more than a bit of quality time with her kids. Redeemable agains more than 50, 000 activities and experiences all over the world, there is bound to be something that floats your Mum’s boats. For every activity booked, a tree is planted through their partnership with Eden Reforestation Project supporting a greener environment in places that need it most, which in turn lowers extreme poverty by preventing villages from flooding, purifying water sources, and providing nutrition to the soil for farming.

treedom

Treedom is the perfect gift for the Mum who has everything. Treedom is a platform that allows you to plant a tree virtually and follow the positive impact it has on the local community and track its growth. A great eco-friendly personalised gift, there are over 45 trees to choose from, so you can pick out the perfect one for your Mum.

Maverick Race voucher

Mike was recently gifted a voucher to enter a Maverick race and I thought it was just the best idea because he’s so bad at prioritising himself and getting out to run, even though he loves it. What better encouragement than an entry to a great race? With trail running events all over the country at every distance, a voucher is the perfect gift for Mums who love to run and get out to explore trails.

The Gift of Great Taste

Modern Milkman Breakfast hamper

I’ve yet to meet someone who doesn’t love breakfast food, and a hamper full of brunch favourites from Modern Milkman is the perfect way to kick off Mother’s Day in style. You can create a bundle full of Mum’s favourites such as eggs, milk, pastries, juices, my favourite yoghurts and even a selection of cheeses for a more continental experience! Delicious.

Hydro flask coffee cup

Last Mother’s Day Evie gifted me a really good coffee cup and it was a game changer! Anyone with a young child knows that when you make a cup of coffee someone immediately needs something from you and your lovely hot drink goes cold. Hydro Flask coffee cups are awesome because they keep your coffee warm for HOURS, so once whatever crisis you’re dealing with has passed you’ll still be able to enjoy your drink. Plus it’s leakproof and fits in the drinks holder on a buggy. Win, win, win.

Exhale Coffee

While we’re on the topic of coffee, a bag of Exhale Coffee would be the perfect pairing with an insulated coffee cup. Speciality grade, organic coffee optimised for health (and roasted right on my doorstep in Brixton, love supporting local companies!) it’s the perfect boost every time.

The Gift of Relaxation

Wahl Mini Gun Massager

My massage gun changed my life. Seriously. Since investing in a gun massager I’ve found I’m recovering from runs much more quickly (and given I’m training for London Marathon, my miles are mega at the moment!). A massage gift isn’t just a great gift for runners, if I’ve spent all day hunched over my desk I love spending a few minutes massaging my shoulders which always feels like a bit of a treat! This Wahl mini massage gun would make a great gift, especially if your mum likes to travel because it’s so dinky and it stays charged for ages.

Aromatherapy Associates Bath Oil

This bath oil is such a luxury. Yes it’s spendy, but a little goes a long way and even with regular use a bottle lasts a long time. All the scents smell AMAZING, but my favourite is Deep Relax, it is truly dreamy (and sets you up very nicely for a good night’s sleep!). If your mum is a bath lover then this is the ultimate lux gift.

Gift a Stretch - https://www.stretchinc.uk/services/

Nothing feels better than a really good stretch, well apart from a really good stretch at the hands of an expert. Stretch Inc. is an assisted stretching service that can help you improve your flexivility and range of motion, manage injury risk, help improve posture and releve muscle aches and pains…like the aches and pains you get from lifting a small child all day! There are mental benefits to a good stretch too, it can help reduce stress and increase relaxation, and I’ve never met a mum who wouldn’t benefit from a bit of relaxation.
